We hope this message finds you as happy as we are! We are delighted to announce that we have secured another victory for SB 321. Yesterday, the bill passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee! We wouldn’t have been able to accomplish this without your eager support. Thank you for participating in our digital actions and continuing to sign and circulate our petition, it is without a doubt making an impact. In anticipation of the hearing, more than 70 domestic workers and employer leaders gathered virtually to support our bill and to call in during public comment. Once the bill was passed, we celebrated together with victory chants, and of course, a little bit of virtual dance.
In the next months, SB 321 will go to the Senate Appropriations Committee, and if passed, it will move to the Senate Floor. In the meantime, we will continue educating legislators, building our base, and strengthening our alliances to make sure that domestic workers’ voices are heard and that we win health and safety for all workers!
